Back to the Planet at Fordham Park Festival 13/09/2014

We had the great pleasure of playing at the infamous Fordham Park festival on the 13th Sept. For those of you in know Fordham Park is just a small green plot of land in the heart of New Cross. Normally this place is quietly forgotten about but there was a festival there about 20 years ago run by a local group of squatters the Conscious Collective and the Dole House.
The festival expanded over 4 years from the initial stage on the back of a truck, to full size purpose built main stage, and sideshows and sound systems. In the end, after the last festival had more than 30,000 people through the park over the course of the day, the local police who had been pretty patient with it all, said it was too big and stopped it.

So fast forward to 2014 and a new crew of people are again running the festival in a smaller more local capacity. It has grown since it’s rebirth 4 years ago but I don’t think it’ll go much bigger than it is now, and that’s a good thing I think, as it is a great day for kids and adults, good for local business, great for the area, and excellent fun for bands!

We were on the dance stage, the rig was supplied by Siren who I know from my raving days as an old skool drum and bass sound system. There was an incredible live D&B band on before us, whose name I shamefully have forgotten but they were excellent.

We played a top set, with 3 of our 4 new tunes in there. the crowd went wild, we went wild, everything went wild!

Really excellent day, definitely want to do it again.
